Ted Lipien resigns as Director of Committee for U.S. International Broadcasting

Ted Lipien has resigned as Director of the Committee for U.S. International Broadcasting (CUSIB) after accepting a job as an executive in U.S. international broadcasting as of December 2020. Ted Lipien, the Committee for U.S. International Broadcasting co-founder, has been supporting independent journalists and promoting media freedom worldwide for many years during and after his previous decades-long work as a reporter, editor, manager and executive for U.S. taxpayer-funded media. Ted was formerly Voice of America acting associate director and was in charge of VOA broadcasts to Poland during Solidarity’s struggle for workers’ rights and democracy. He is the author of Wojtyla’s Women: How They Shaped the Life of Pope John Paul II and Changed the Catholic Church, a book about Pope John Paul II and feminism. He is now President and CEO of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL).
